Nonviolent Direct Action Training: Issaquah
For folks on the Eastside, the Church Council is hosting a Nonviolent Direct Action Training on Saturday, March 14, from 1-5 PM in Issaquah. We hope you will join us!
Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue. It seeks to so dramatize the issue that it can no longer be ignored.
-Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail
Get prepared to be a confident nonviolent presence at protests and direction actions. This moment requires a team of support to create a sense of power and belonging. There is work for all of us. We don’t know what the next call to action will be, but this is a pivotal time to skill up and start building trust with others that will call us into action.
