Faith Land Initiative Updates
The Church Council has wrapped up our 6th Faith Land Discernment Cohort! Three congregations participated this cohort season, engaging their communities in deep discernment around their congregations' land, building, and vision for their assets through the lenses of anti-racism and community organizing. This work prepares 3-4 community members to continue leading their communities through collaborative decision-making, while the Church Council facilitates peer-to-peer support in the years to come.
The discernment cohort sets the framework for what are often years-long projects. We are excited to see where the visions of each of these communities lead them into the future!
Additionally, this summer we will be hosting a Faith Land Summer Camp to support the 20+ communities who have participated in past cohorts. This will be an opportunity to get a refresher on lessons and tools we share during the cohort, to connect with one another, and to learn from communities who are farther along in their projects. If you are part of a past cohort faith community who is interested in attending, reach out to Joey for more information!
