A Powerful Multi-Faith Convening
Monday night, over 120 people of faith and conscience joined us for a multi-faith convening on migrant solidarity. It was powerful to gather with so many people across faith traditions who are committed to solidarity with our migrant neighbors and considering the ways we may rise to meet this challenging time we are in.
Leaders from from the Church Council, Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice, WAISN, CAIR-WA, Faith Action Network, and Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center made clear that this is a moment to be firm on the values our religious traditions share – to welcome the stranger, to care for our neighbor, and to treat others with dignity. We know that we are safer and stronger when we stand together.
Our organizations are part of Washington for All!, a coalition of migrant advocacy and legal organizations, labor, faith communities, and those advocating for democracy, coming together to protect migrant communities.
We will continue to highlight opportunities from our coalition partners to support this work through our E-News and action alerts. Stay tuned for opportunities to come. Together, let’s build a Washington where we all belong.
