Seattle Budget Roundtable: November 6 Public Testimony

This afternoon, our Seattle Budget Roundtable shared our final statements with City Council as they voted on the 2026 budget. We emphasized that while there are glimmers of community care evident in this budget, there are contradictions that continue to make our communities feel less safe and less equipped to respond to federal cuts and attacks. As Rev. Steve Jerbi testified, they are “cutting the baby in half.”

This video is a compilation of our November 6th public testimony that gathered people of faith from across the city to emphasize that budgets are a moral document and should reflect the values of community care. Our group included folks who have never testified at City Council, as well as hundreds of letters written by faith communities and high school students! Thank you to all who joined us this fall, and to our Budget Roundtable leaders who showed up week after week!
