Rise UP Counter Protest Info
***This event is not being being organized by the Church Council of Greater Seattle.***
The purpose of this interfaith and ecumenical counter protest event is to be present as clergy and people of faith in a spirit of love and solidarity with trans and non-binary siblings during an event whose purpose is to dehumanize them.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Plan to arrive at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle between 5-5:30 pm on Saturday, May 24th north of the Waterworks Fountain. 
- If you are taking light rail, exit at the Capitol Hill station, which is very near Cal Anderson Park 
SAFETY TIPS:
- While our group is planning a peaceful gathering, other groups will be present, and some may have other plans. If at any time the situation becomes physically unsafe, our group plans to leave. 
- On Saturday, a meet up location will be determined in case it is needed—if the group needs to leave quickly and scatters 
- Stay away from the stage area 
- Make sure someone who is NOT coming to the event - Knows where you will be 
- Knows your full name 
- Knows your date of birth 
- Can contact anyone who needs contacting if you are delayed in returning home 
 
- Have a buddy for the event. If you do not come with one, you can buddy up upon arrival 
- Memorize or write on your body the phone number of a support person you could call if needed (in case your phone is knocked away or taken away from you) 
- Phones: - Turn OFF facial recognition or fingerprint recognition for opening the phone. This can usually be done in the settings 
- Turn off data and location 
 
THINGS NOT TO BRING:
- Bags or purses that could be ripped away from you 
- Valuables 
- Contact lenses (wear glasses in case of tear gas which can get trapped behind contact lenses) 
THINGS TO CONSIDER BRINGING:
- ID 
- 1 credit card 
- Water 
- Mask or bandana 
- Small snacks 
- Bandaids
