Transition of HomeStep to
Compass Housing Alliance

After 22 years of nurturing HomeStep (and its predecessor programs The Homelessness Project and Self-Managed Housing Program), the Church Council of Greater Seattle has formed a partnership with the Compass Housing Alliance which will lead to HomeStep becoming a part of Compass Housing Alliance on July 1, 2011.

Going forward, HomeStep will continue its highly regarded work helping families and single adults to gain self-sufficiency and permanent housing.  Moreover, as part of Compass Housing Alliance - a comprehensive housing and services agency - HomeStep will have new opportunities to strengthen its capacity and sustain its mission.  Meanwhile, the Church Council will continue to operate its other human service programs - The Sharehouse, Friend to Friend and Sound Youth VISTA - in fulfillment of our mission of catalyzing community response to basic needs, bringing a unique moral voice to addressing poverty and fostering social equity.

As HomeStep proceeds from the Church Council family of programs, we want to thank you for your help in supporting HomeStep's work.  HomeStep has had an amazing history with the Church Council and has touched and transformed many lives.  We invite your continued relationship with HomeStep through the Compass Housing Alliance.
