Congregations are Invited to Endorse the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness
Why does it make a difference for congregations to adopt the 10-year plan to end homelessness? Because part of the solution to homelessness is in mustering the political will to change the way we do business. With 100 King County congregations adopting the plan, political leaders will stand up and take notice.
Here are the steps to take:
1. Notify the Church Council of your desire to participate. Contact us via e-mail by clicking here. We'll include you on the list of potential congregational endorsers below.
2. Study the plan. Here are some materials to help you:
- You can download the 10-year plan by clicking here.
- Download an executive summary by clicking here.
- Download talking points by clicking here.
- Download a North & East King County fact sheet by clicking here.
3. Take a vote of your governing body.
4. Notify the Church Council of your support by sending us a completed endorsement form.
We will keep a running tally of congregations who support the plan and report this each month to the Committee to End Homelessness, which will report the congregational endorsers on its website. Our goal is 100 congregations by the end of 2006.
